About the
Role:
The Driver1 position is a critical role responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods and/or passengers across various locations within the United States. This role ensures that all deliveries or pickups are completed efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. The driver will be the face of the company, maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service during all interactions. Additionally, the role involves routine vehicle inspections and maintenance to guarantee operational safety and reliability. Ultimately, the Driver1 contributes to the overall success of the company by ensuring that logistical operations run smoothly and customer satisfaction is achieved.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle class being operated. Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required by company policy. Physical ability to load and unload cargo as necessary and to sit for extended periods while driving. Basic literacy and numeracy skills to complete logs and communicate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a professional driving role, preferably within logistics or transportation. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning software. Customer service experience to enhance interactions with clients and stakeholders. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and minor repair skills.
Responsibilities:
Operate company vehicles to transport goods or passengers to designated locations safely and on schedule. Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays encountered during routes. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues. Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
