Transportation Driver - Children & Youth Back to the Basics Tutoring Menomonee Falls, WI Part-Time | $15.00-$16.50 per hour Job Overview B2TB Learning & Training Center is seeking a dependable, patient, and safety-focused Transportation Driver to safely transport children and youth to and from our programs and other authorized locations. Many of the children we serve have disabilities or additional support needs. Our drivers do more than provide a ride—they help create a safe, calm, consistent, and welcoming transportation experience. Reliability and punctuality are essential. Families and staff depend on our transportation team to arrive safely and on time for scheduled routes. Duties & Responsibilities Safely transport children and youth using company SUVs and minivans. Follow assigned pickup/drop-off routes and transportation schedules. Follow traffic laws, defensive-driving practices, and B2TB transportation safety procedures. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety checks. Ensure passengers are properly secured before operating the vehicle. Maintain a calm and supportive environment for children during transportation. Remain patient and professional with children who may experience anxiety, sensory needs, emotional dysregulation, developmental disabilities, or difficulty with transitions. Respond calmly and appropriately to unexpected traffic, delays, behavioral concerns, or emergencies. Communicate professionally with children, parents/caregivers, staff, and supervisors. Immediately communicate significant delays, cancellations, accidents, vehicle concerns, or other issues affecting transportation. Complete transportation logs and required documentation accurately and on time. Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families. Maintain professional boundaries with children and families. Keep company vehicles clean and ready for use. Report maintenance needs, vehicle damage, warning lights, fuel needs, or safety concerns promptly. Follow established pickup and drop-off procedures. Never leave a child unattended in a vehicle. Requirements Valid driver's license. Minimum of 3 years of licensed driving experience. Safe and acceptable driving record. Must meet company commercial automobile insurance requirements and remain eligible to operate company vehicles. Ability to successfully complete required background/caregiver checks. Ability to safely operate SUVs and minivans. Dependable transportation to and from the B2TB location. Consistent availability for assigned transportation routes. Reliable access to a working mobile phone. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and make safe decisions during unexpected situations. Comfortable working with children and youth with disabilities and additional support needs. Ability to follow established routes, procedures, safety requirements, and supervisor instructions. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of licensed driving experience. Previous professional driving or passenger transportation experience. Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities. Experience in childcare, education, youth programs, caregiving, transportation, or human services. First Aid/CPR certification. Knowledge of defensive driving and child passenger safety practices. Familiarity with Menomonee Falls, Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee County, and surrounding communities. Schedule This is a part-time position with hours based on transportation routes and program needs. Routes may include morning, afternoon, and after-school transportation. Some drivers may work split shifts consisting of a morning route and a separate afternoon route. Applicants should provide their consistent weekly availability when applying. Compensation $15.00-$16.50 per hour , based on experience and qualifications. Company vehicles are provided for authorized transportation. Many of the children we serve benefit from predictable routines and familiar adults. Once a driver accepts a regular route, children and families depend on that driver being there. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position. This position may not be a good fit for applicants whose availability changes frequently or who cannot consistently commit to assigned routes.
