Job Description

Progressive Rail Inc. is a short-line freight railroad that provides cost-effective shipping and transloading options to over 300 customers across a wide variety of industries. Our main office is headquartered in Lakeville, MN, with several other owned and operating railway locations across multiple states. Progressive Rail, Inc. is seeking a reliable Conductor in the Lakeville, MN area.
Primary Purpose and Essential Functions:
The position interprets train orders, train signals, radio communications, and railroad rules and regulations to operate in an efficient and safe manner. Ability to undertake administrative tasks such as Hours of Service and reporting. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Communicate effectively with fellow employees or dispatcher by radio to give/receive information and instructions concerning stops, delays, or oncoming trains. Inspects locomotives for operational readiness. Must comply with company and federal safety rules, policies and procedures, including wearing PPE, responding to safety concerns, and using sound judgement to take appropriate action. Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions; work in conditions that include climbing ladders. Able to handle medium to heavy work; ability to lift a minimum of 50 to 80 pounds to waist height.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Willing to submit to a background and driving investigation. Willing to submit to Pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
