Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced (atleast 4 years +) and enthusiastic Deckhand to join our team. As a Deckhand, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and enjoyment of our boat tours. This position is perfect for someone who loves the ocean, enjoys working in a dynamic team, and thrives in a customer-facing role.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the safe operation and maintenance of the vessel. Handle mooring lines during departures and dockings. Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of the vessel, including decks and equipment. Greet and assist passengers, ensuring their safety and comfort during tours. Support the Captain in emergency situations and routine operations. Provide outstanding customer service, including helping with snorkeling gear and answering questions.
Qualifications:
Valid First Aid and CPR certification . Must be able to dive to various mooring ball (about 25 - 30 feet) Basic seamanship skills; experience handling mooring lines and operating small equipment. Knowledge of boat safety protocols and emergency procedures. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience as a Deckhand or in a similar maritime role. Knowledge of the local marine environment and Hawaiian culture. Experience with snorkeling equipment is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
