Job Description

Overview Join Kenosis Marine as a dynamic lift boat operations team as a Deck Hand, where you will play a vital role in supporting safe and efficient maritime water transportation. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on specialized vessels designed for offshore lifting and construction projects. As a key member of the crew, you will assist with vessel operations, safety protocols, and maintenance activities to ensure smooth day-to-day functions. Duties Assist with the handling and securing of ropes, cables, and lifting equipment during vessel operations at sea and dockside. Support crane operation activities by preparing equipment, monitoring safety procedures, and communicating effectively with the crew. Conduct routine vessel inspections and maintenance tasks to uphold vessel safety standards and operational readiness. Follow maritime safety procedures diligently, including firefighting protocols, first aid response, and CPR when necessary. Maintain water transportation equipment such as winches, hoists, and deck machinery to ensure optimal performance. Communicate clearly with maritime crew members using established protocols to coordinate tasks efficiently. Support water transportation industry standards by adhering to US Coast Guard (USCG) regulations and safety guidelines. Requirements Proven experience in water transportation or maritime environments; industry-specific experience preferred. Knowledge of vessel maintenance, boat handling, rope handling at sea, and basic mechanical work on commercial ships. Certifications in first aid, CPR, firefighting, and maritime safety procedures are highly desirable. Ability to operate cranes or similar lifting equipment safely; prior crane operation experience is a plus. Strong understanding of USCG regulations governing vessel operations and crew safety standards. Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork aboard vessels in diverse conditions. Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy loads, standing for extended periods, and working in challenging weather conditions. $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
