Job Description

Apply 1st Officer - Cruise Location Worldwide Job Type Permanent Requirements Unlimited Officer of the Watch (OOW) / Navigation Watch Officer Licence. Required regulatory and company training and certifications. Previous satisfactory contract performance for internal candidates. Strong written and spoken English; additional languages such as Spanish, French or German are preferred. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including participation in emergency procedures and lifting up to 50 lbs (23 kg).

Ability to work effectively under pressure and within a multicultural team. Benefits Stand navigational watches and ensure compliance with safety, security, environmental and company procedures. Monitor bridge operations, alarms, safety rounds and watchkeeping personnel. Report significant events to the Master and Staff Captain and take appropriate action when required. Maintain bridge discipline and ensure safe and effective watchkeeping. In port, monitor gangways, mooring operations, weather conditions and other activities affecting vessel safety. Support and operate ship's tenders when required. Ensure compliance with Navigation Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Master's Standing Orders and STCW rest requirements. Coordinate deck maintenance activities with the Staff Captain and Bosun. Plan, schedule and monitor maintenance, inspections, repairs and related documentation. Manage deck spare parts, consumables and maintenance-related expenditure. Ensure deck areas, equipment and systems are maintained safely and efficiently. Maintain familiarity with the maintenance system, Deck SOPs and scheduled maintenance requirements. Perform stability calculations when required. Assist with crew safety training, drills and lifeboat training. Attend required meetings, training and courses and perform other duties as assigned.
