RN Med/Surg overview The Registered Nurse utilizes nursing theory, technical expertise, and effective communication skills to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care, provides direct patient care, evaluates patient outcomes, and coordinates care throughout the patient's entire episode of treatment. The RN on 1st Acute develops specialized skills in caring for patients admitted with medical conditions and provides care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations. The 3 North RN is responsible for patient and family education to promote understanding of self-care following hospitalization, including necessary lifestyle changes to support ongoing health and healing. Additionally, the Registered Nurse on 3 North is expected to foster a healing environment by promoting patient comfort and providing emotional support. RN Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved school of Registered Professional Nursing BSN preferred Current NYS License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (must be active 2 weeks before residency start)
Compensation:
New Graduate RN:
$40.71 hour Prior LPN experience may result in a higher rate FLH123
