Job Overview We are seeking a dependable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery driving, warehouse operations, and be familiar with commercial vehicle operation, including box trucks and personal vehicles. A clean driving record, adherence to traffic regulations, and strong manual handling skills are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities Safely operate delivery vehicles such as box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles for route driving and deliveries. Load and unload goods using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices. Ensure accurate loading of cargo, adhering to weight limits and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Plan efficient delivery routes using mobile devices or route planning tools to optimize time and fuel efficiency. Deliver products to customers' locations while maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service standards. Collect signatures or proof of delivery as required, and handle any customer inquiries or concerns courteously. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and compliance with transportation regulations. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs. Assist with warehouse operations when necessary, including inventory management and material handling. Qualifications Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with warehouse experience or commercial truck driving background. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory depending on the vehicle type. Experience operating box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles for delivery purposes. Knowledge of safe lifting practices for heavy loads; experience with manual transmission vehicles is advantageous. Familiarity with DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and commercial vehicle operation. Ability to handle manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks safely and efficiently. Strong organizational skills for route planning and time management. Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude during interactions with clients. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to traffic regulations and safety standards.
