Job Description
Job Summary Desert Services is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Part-Time CDL Driver to support our construction, transportation, and site services operations. This position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to operate both Water Trucks and Roll-Off Trucks throughout the Valley. The ideal candidate is a professional driver with a strong safety record who enjoys working independently, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to the success of construction and service projects. Drivers can expect local routes with daily home time while supporting dust control, construction activities, waste management, and customer service needs. Key Responsibilities Safely operate Water Trucks and Roll-Off Trucks in compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and traffic laws. Transport, deliver, and remove roll-off containers at construction sites, commercial properties, and customer locations. Operate Water Trucks to support dust control, soil conditioning, compaction efforts, and environmental compliance requirements. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required vehicle documentation. Monitor vehicle performance and report maintenance or repair needs promptly. Secure loads and ensure equipment is transported safely and efficiently. Navigate construction sites, industrial facilities, roadways, and customer locations while maintaining a strong focus on safety. Complete driver logs, service tickets, mileage records, and other required documentation accurately. Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries, pickups, and site visits. Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, customers, and project personnel. Follow all OSHA, DOT, company safety, and environmental regulations. Assist with other transportation and operational duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid Class A or Class B CDL with a clean driving record. Current DOT Medical Card required. Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles in a variety of environments. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspections, and safe driving practices. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment issues. Strong communication and customer service skills. Experience working around construction sites is preferred. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous commercial driving experience required. Experience operating Water Trucks, Roll-Off Trucks, dump trucks, or similar heavy equipment preferred. Experience with construction, waste management, hauling, or related industries is a plus. Familiarity with air brake systems and vehicle inspections required. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and drive for extended periods. Ability to climb in and out of trucks multiple times throughout the day. Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to work outdoors in heat, dust, noise, and varying weather conditions. Ability to safely access construction sites and uneven terrain.
