Part-Time Driver (Street Sweeper / Portable Restroom Service Driver) Desert Services Job Summary Desert Services is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Part-Time Driver to support our construction and site services operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to perform a variety of essential services, including street sweeping, dust control support, portable restroom delivery and service, and general site maintenance activities . The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, takes pride in providing excellent service, and is comfortable working outdoors in construction, industrial, and commercial environments. This position plays a critical role in maintaining safe, clean, and compliant job sites while representing Desert Services in a professional manner. Key Responsibilities Operate company vehicles and equipment to perform street sweeping and portable restroom service routes. Remove dirt, gravel, trash, construction debris, and other materials from roadways, parking lots, and job sites. Deliver, service, clean, pump, and relocate portable restrooms and hand wash stations. Support dust control efforts and environmental compliance requirements on active construction projects. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections. Complete basic cleaning and routine maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment. Accurately complete route sheets, inspection reports, service logs, and required documentation. Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, dispatch personnel, and project managers. Safely operate around traffic, pedestrians, construction crews, and active job sites. Set up and remove traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and barricades, when necessary. Report equipment malfunctions, damage, safety concerns, or customer issues promptly. Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service at all times. Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, DOT regulations, and all applicable traffic laws. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. CDL is a plus but not required. Ability to safely operate trucks, trailers, sweeping equipment, or similar service vehicles. Strong commitment to safety and customer service. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working in outdoor environments and around construction operations. Ability to interact professionally with customers and coworkers. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous driving experience required. Experience in street sweeping, construction support services, portable sanitation, delivery services, or related industries preferred. Experience working around construction sites, roadways, or industrial environments is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and drive for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, climb, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to work outdoors in heat, dust, noise, and changing weather conditions. Ability to safely enter and exit vehicles multiple times throughout the day. Ability to work on uneven terrain and active construction sites.
