In this role, you'll be responsible for safely delivering goods to customers using your personal vehicle or a company-provided box truck. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will ensure timely deliveries and satisfied customers every day. No weekends, Monday thru Friday starting at 8:30am. This is a FedEx Independent Contractor. Responsibilities Safely operate your personal vehicle or a company-provided box truck to deliver goods to various locations. Load and unload items using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices. Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time, following designated routes and traffic regulations. Communicate effectively with customers, providing excellent customer service and addressing any delivery-related questions or concerns. Maintain proper documentation of deliveries, including logs and delivery confirmations via mobile devices. Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company policies related to commercial driving and weight handling in the workplace. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly to ensure safety standards are met. Qualifications Previous delivery driver experience preferred, especially with commercial driving or courier roles involving box trucks or personal vehicles. Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely, including moving items using pallet jacks or other material handling equipment. Knowledge of traffic laws, route driving, and adherence to DOT regulations required for safe commercial driving. Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
