The driver will be responsible for operating a 26-foot commercial truck to deliver food products and other goods to restaurants and business customers. This position involves driving, loading and unloading products, verifying deliveries with customers, maintaining accurate delivery records, and ensuring products are transported safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Safely operate a 26-foot commercial truck while complying with all applicable federal, state, and local traffic and transportation regulations. Pick up and deliver food products and other merchandise to assigned customer locations according to scheduled delivery routes. Load and unload pallets, boxes, and other products using appropriate equipment and safe handling procedures. Verify products, quantities, and delivery documents with customers at the time of delivery. Obtain required signatures or other proof of delivery and accurately complete delivery documentation. Handle food products carefully to prevent damage, contamination, or improper storage during transportation. Follow applicable procedures for transporting refrigerated, frozen, and shelf-stable food products. Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report mechanical, safety, or maintenance concerns. Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the assigned delivery vehicle. Follow company procedures regarding accidents, vehicle breakdowns, damaged products, rejected deliveries, and other transportation incidents. Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse staff, dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members. Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules while promptly communicating delays or delivery issues. Comply with company safety policies and all applicable commercial vehicle regulations. Perform other delivery, warehouse, or transportation-related duties as reasonably assigned. Qualifications & Skills Valid driver's license appropriate for the class and weight of vehicle being operated. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), if required for the assigned vehicle. Previous commercial truck driving or delivery experience preferred. Clean and safe driving record. Knowledge of traffic laws, commercial vehicle safety requirements, and defensive driving practices. Ability to safely operate a 26-foot commercial truck. Ability to safely load, unload, move, and handle pallets, boxes, and food products. Experience using pallet jacks, lift gates, hand trucks, or similar delivery equipment is preferred. Ability to perform physical work, including frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Strong attention to detail when verifying products, quantities, invoices, and delivery documentation. Good customer service and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers in English; additional language skills are a plus. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently while following assigned schedules and routes. Basic knowledge of commercial vehicle inspections and the ability to identify and report potential maintenance or safety issues. Physical Requirements This position requires regular physical activity associated with commercial food delivery, including loading and unloading products, operating delivery equipment, and moving products between the truck and customer locations.
