Job Overview Join our dynamic educational team as a Teacher Assistant and Transportation Driver, where you will play a vital role in supporting student success and ensuring safe, reliable transportation with own car. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with educators, students, and families to foster a positive learning environment while providing essential transportation services. Your energetic and compassionate approach will help create an engaging classroom atmosphere and ensure students arrive safely to and from school each day. Mileage will be paid for transportation based on the IRS rate. Duties Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans focused on literacy, math, early childhood education, elementary school ages, and special education needs. Support classroom management by supervising children during activities, transitions, and breaks to promote positive behavior. Provide one-on-one tutoring, mentoring, and behavioral support for students with diverse learning needs, including individuals with disabilities and autism. Collaborate with teachers to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional materials for various learning styles. Safely operate school transportation vehicles, ensuring all safety protocols are followed during pick-up and drop-off routes. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, maintain accurate logs of transportation schedules, and respond promptly to any vehicle issues or emergencies. Maintain compliance with educational regulations such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and local transportation laws while ensuring student safety at all times. Skills Proven experience working with children in classroom settings, including early childhood education and special education environments. Strong knowledge of classroom behavior management techniques and educational compliance standards. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and school staff. Familiarity with educational technologies and computers used in classroom instruction. Ability to supervise children safely during transportation and school activities while demonstrating patience and empathy. Knowledge of childhood development principles and experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable. Fingerprint and Live Scan clearance required. Willing to complete all required safety certifications and training related to working in a learning center. Commitment to maintaining a safe, professional, and supportive environment for children. First aid and CPR certification to ensure immediate response in emergency situations. Strong organizational skills for maintaining transportation logs, lesson materials, and student records.
