Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and professional Route Delivery Driver to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering freight, including refrigerated goods and hazardous materials, along designated over-the-road (OTR) routes. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Plan delivery routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize efficiency and timeliness. Load and unload freight manually or with appropriate equipment, ensuring proper cargo handling in compliance with logistics standards. Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods in accordance with hazardous materials regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including manifests and delivery receipts. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on routes. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to manual handling, truck loading/unloading, and transportation of sensitive cargo. Drive over-the-road (OTR) routes across various regions, managing long-distance travel schedules responsibly. Adhere strictly to load securement procedures for freight of different types such as refrigerated goods or tanker loads. Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure optimal operation. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with refrigerated trailers or similar equipment. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL), with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat) preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, and hazardous materials handling. Experience operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient deliveries. Ability to handle logistics cargo handling tasks safely and effectively. Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures for freight including dangerous goods. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance. Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks required for load & unload operations. Knowledge of freight management practices for various cargo types such as flatbed or tanker loads.
