About Wicked Popcorn Wicked Popcorn is a family-owned gourmet popcorn company serving events throughout San Diego, including Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. We are a small, hands-on team that takes pride in providing quality products, dependable service and a great guest experience. Position Summary Wicked Popcorn is looking for a reliable, flexible and hands-on Delivery & Event Support Associate (Seasonal) to support our event operations several days per week for the end of our Rady Shell Season (season ends at the end of December). A typical shift begins at our Point Loma warehouse, where you will organize products for delivery. You will then drive the company van to Rady Shell, unload products and supplies, help the on-site team prepare for gates to open and work the event through intermission, assisting with stocking and service support. At the end of the shift, you will return excess products and the company van to the warehouse. This is not a management position, but it requires strong personal responsibility. The right person can work independently, solve routine problems, adjust when event needs change and follow every assignment through to completion without constant supervision. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation and Loading Assist with popping and bagging popcorn as needed Organize pretzels, popcorn, beverages, and supplies for delivery Review delivery instructions and confirm that all requested items are included Safely and efficiently load products and supplies into the company van Keep warehouse preparation and loading areas clean and organized Delivery Drive the company delivery van from the Point Loma warehouse to Rady Shell Safely transport, unload and deliver products and supplies Follow assigned delivery, parking, loading-zone and venue check-in procedures Handle company products and property carefully Communicate promptly if there are delays, missing products, vehicle concerns or other issues Complete occasional local business deliveries when scheduled Event Support Help the on-site team prepare the stand before gates open Pop and bag popcorn as needed Stock pretzels, popcorn, beverages, packaging and service supplies Restock drink coolers and organize the stand for efficient service Confirm that the event team has the products and supplies needed for service Remain on-site through intermission (typically between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m.) Assist with stocking, light food preparation, cleaning and other event support tasks as directed Respond with urgency when the event team needs additional products or supplies End-of-Shift Responsibilities Gather and load excess products, supplies and equipment Return the company van and remaining products to the Point Loma warehouse Properly unload, organize, and store returned products and supplies Remove trash and leave the van clean and organized Return the van to its designated location and plug it in to charge Confirm that the van is charging before leaving Report product shortages, waste, damage, vehicle concerns or other operational issues Complete all assigned closing responsibilities before clocking out What We're Looking For The right candidate is: Reliable and punctual, with consistent attendance Flexible when event times or priorities change and has a flexible schedule Comfortable working independently without constant supervision Able to solve routine problems and make sound decisions Proactive about identifying problems before they affect the event Responsible and trusted to care for company products, equipment and vehicles Focused on follow-through and completing every step of an assignment Organized and attentive to product quantities, instructions and timelines Able to prioritize tasks and work with an appropriate sense of urgency Comfortable asking questions when instructions or priorities are unclear A clear communicator who provides timely updates Willing to jump in and help wherever needed Calm and adaptable in a fast-paced event environment Team-oriented, positive and respectful Required Qualifications Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements Comfortable driving a large company delivery van in downtown San Diego Reliable transportation to and from the Point Loma warehouse Ability to lift, carry, load and unload up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend and move for most of the shift Availability for afternoon and evening shifts, primarily Thursday through Sunday Ability to work through intermission and complete the warehouse return afterward Food Handler Card or ability to obtain one; training can be provided if needed Preferred Experience At least one year of food delivery-driving experience Food preparation, restaurant, concession or catering experience Concert, event or venue experience Experience working independently in a time-sensitive position Familiarity with Point Loma and downtown San Diego driving routes Benefits Company delivery van provided during scheduled shifts for business needs Paid training Paid sick time Employee food discounts Opportunity to work in a unique concert and event environment
