As a Class A Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for transporting products to customer locations in a safe and timely manner. Your primary duties include loading and unloading freight, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations, and ensuring deliveries are made according to schedule. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate delivery records, inspecting vehicles for mechanical issues, and communicating effectively with dispatchers and customers. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and a customer-focused attitude to uphold our commitment to service excellence.Essential Functions :
Safely transport, deliver, and relocate products and materials as directed by supervisor. Load and unload goods, ensuring adherence to proper load security protocols. Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment. Promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns to supervisor. Operate company vehicles in compliance with all DOT regulations and local traffic laws. Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver logs as required by DOT regulations. Keep the vehicle clean and in good operating condition. Immediately report any accidents, citations, or incidents to supervisor. Submit required reports and dispatch paperwork in a timely manner. Adhere to all safety protocols, participate in mandatory safety meetings, and use necessary personal protective equipment. Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with customers in a courteous and professional manner.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Commercial Driver License (CDL): A valid Class A CDL is essential, allowing operation of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) exceeding 26,000 pounds and towing trailers or other vehicles with a GVWR of over 10,000 pounds.Clean Driving Record:
A record free of major violations such as DUI/DWI, reckless driving, or multiple moving violations.Experience:
Previous experience as a Class A driver is often preferred, though some employers may provide training for new drivers.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy objects, sometimes up to 50 pounds or more, and perform tasks such as loading and unloading freight.Safety Compliance:
Knowledge of and adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations regarding hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and safety inspections.Communication Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate with dispatchers, customers, and coworkers.Customer Service Skills :
A customer-focused approach to ensure timely and professional delivery of goods. Attention toDetail:
Capability to complete paperwork accurately, including logbooks, manifests, and delivery confirmations.
