This is a local, single-day route position , but scheduling can vary significantly because produce deliveries depend on port availability and customer demand. Drivers will generally work 4 days per week , but must have completely open availability Monday through Sunday and be willing to work whichever days they are scheduled. Schedule & Availability Work approximately 4 days per week Must be available all 7 days of the week Exact workdays are not guaranteed in advance Schedule is typically provided the night before Dispatch times can range from approximately 9:30 PM-4:00 AM Typical shifts are 8-10 hours Local routes with drivers returning home daily Flexibility is extremely important due to the nature of produce transportation Job Responsibilities Operate an automatic CDL Class A day cab with reefer trailer. Deliver palletized produce to grocery distribution centers. Transport produce safely and on schedule. Perform local deliveries within approximately a 200-mile radius. Potentially run shuttles between Port Manatee and local facilities to transport incoming produce. Safely operate and inspect reefer equipment. Complete required delivery paperwork. Follow all DOT and company safety procedures. Requirements Valid CDL Class A License Previous commercial driving experience Reefer experience preferred TWIC card strongly preferred/important due to potential Port Manatee shuttle routes Clean driving record Must have completely open availability Monday-Sunday Must be comfortable receiving the work schedule the night before Must be flexible with changing workdays and start times Reliable attendance and strong safety awareness Ability to pass required MVR, background, and drug screening Assignment Details This is a 90+ day coverage assignment for a driver currently out on FMLA. If the current driver does not return, there may be an opportunity for full-time conversion , or another position may become available; however, full-time employment is not guaranteed .
