Job Description
Main terminal moved to Danville, IL JE Thomas is looking for self-motivated, safe, drivers who will provide outstanding service to our customers located in the Charlotte County area. You will be provided paid training, delivery vehicle, equipment (Ipad, scanner, extra battery, ect.) and uniforms. We currently operate 6 days a week with Sundays off. We offer multiple scheduling options for part time and full time employees. A driver will typically be on duty from 7:30am to 5pm but some get done sooner. These on duty times will depend on how long you chose to take for your break, delivery efficiency, and route assigned to you. During peak delivery season your route and stop count will go up compared to the slower season due to a higher delivery volume.
DUTIES OF DELIVERY DRIVER
Report to the manager at the main terminal in Punta Gorda by 7:30am. Perform pre-trip inspection, examine route assigned for the day, and organize packages for delivery efficiency before dispatch. Deliver and pick up all packages to schedule stops located at commercial and residential locations. Pickups are to be completed during allotted time. Throughout the day drivers need to stay in contact with upper management with any operational issues or questions. Once daily the route is completed in full return to the main terminal for post trip inspection and to return company vehicle.
REQUIREMENTS
21 years of age or older Clean driving record - no accidents or violations in 3 years or DUI/DWI Pass pre-hire DOT physical, drug screen and federal criminal background check Legal to work in the United States Able safely move/lift up to 150lbs with the assistance of a cart
•Not required for hire but Class C license is preferred
