Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-conscious Part-Time Transportation Driver to provide transportation for individuals with developmental disabilities residing in an APD-licensed, behavior-focused group home. The Transportation Driver will use a company-provided vehicle to safely transport clients between the group home and their Adult Day Training (ADT) program. Because our residents may have behavioral challenges, the ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and be comfortable responding appropriately to behavioral needs while maintaining a calm, respectful, and professional demeanor. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with individuals with disabilities and is looking for a consistent part-time morning and afternoon schedule. Essential Responsibilities Safely transport clients to and from the group home and Adult Day Training (ADT) program. Operate the company vehicle responsibly and in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies. Assist clients with safely entering and exiting the vehicle as needed. Maintain appropriate supervision and awareness of clients during transportation. Follow individual client transportation procedures and staff instructions. Recognize and appropriately respond to behavioral concerns that may arise during transportation. Maintain a calm and professional demeanor when working with individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviors. Use approved de-escalation and redirection techniques when appropriate. Report behavioral incidents, injuries, accidents, or other concerns to management promptly. Complete required transportation and incident documentation accurately. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the company vehicle. Conduct appropriate vehicle safety checks as required. Maintain client confidentiality and protect the privacy and dignity of all individuals served. Follow APD regulations, company policies, and all applicable health and safety requirements. Required Qualifications Valid Florida driver's license with a clean and acceptable driving record . Reliable transportation to and from work. Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities . Previous experience working with individuals who may exhibit challenging or behavioral needs . Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional during behavioral situations. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Dependable and punctual. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff, families, and program personnel. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality. Must be able to successfully complete required background screening and employment requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an APD-licensed group home, residential setting, Adult Day Training program, or similar disability-services environment. Experience with behavioral-focused services. Experience with de-escalation and positive behavior support. APD-required training or experience with behavioral health/safety procedures. Schedule This is a part-time Monday-Friday position with a split schedule:
Morning:
7:00 AM-8:30
AM Afternoon:
2:00 PM-3:30 PM Approximately 15 hours per week . The position requires availability for both the morning and afternoon transportation periods.
