Job Description

Short Haul
  • Day Driver
  • BE HOME EVERY NIGHT. CLASS A CDL REQUIRED
  • Make a routine inspection of truck each morning before truck is put into service.
Fill out driver vehicle inspection report and verify that truck is in safe working condition. If truck is not in a safe working condition, report it to the yard supervisor.
DO NOT OPERATE TRUCK UNTIL IT IS REPAIRED AND DEEMED AS A SAFE OPERATING
VEHICLE.When inspection is complete, turn signed inspection from in to the Yard Supervisor. Before leaving yard on delivery, make sure your load is correct. Make sure your load is secure and in a safe condition for hauling. Make sure you know where the job is located. Be aware of any special instructions you may need in order to properly deliver load. Must know and follow all safety rules and procedures when required to make deliveries that have to be hand unloaded. Get signed delivery ticket when possible. If no one is on job site, make note on delivery ticket that no one was there, put time and date of delivery, and sign and take a picture utilizing our proof of delivery system. Make sure that you pick up the correct material and the correct amount when making pickups from vendors. Check that vendors load our trucks in a sage and acceptable way. Always sign for what you pickup and turn receiving tickets in to the yard supervisor when returning to the yard for unloading. Pull order for delivery or customer pickup as needed, both on yard and in warehouse. Other Duties as assigned by your supervisor.
