Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage transportation schedule and communication. Train other colleagues on van competencies. Meets and greets all customers utilizing excellent customer service skills. Maintain required documentation. Assist patients entering/exiting the vehicle and ensure safe, positive experience. Assists customers into building, if needed. Complete routine checks on vehicle and maintain transportation logs. Maintain supplies needed for transportation purposes. Responsible for operating the wheelchair lift. Will not be responsible to do manual lifting or transferring of patients. Safely operate a passenger van and transport patients to scheduled healthcare appointments. In addition to the functions described above, this role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon Dallas County Hospital needs or requirements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education/Experience:
High School education or equivalent, required. Previous customer service experience, preferred.
Technical Skills:
Excellent customer service skills, required.
Other qualifications/certificate/license:
Valid Iowa driver's license and be insurable. Yearly MVR check. Provide proof of insurance. BLS certified. Position requires a Class D Chauffeur license.
PC Competencies:
A working knowledge of the Windows environment is desirable

Decision Making Latitude:
Has freedom to determine how to best accomplish functions within budget, established procedures and protocol and confers with Director on any customer service, operational and scheduling related issues.

From $16.50 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
