Delivery Driver / Material Handler — Non-CDL Capital Lumber Co. — Boise, Idaho Monday-Friday | 7:20 AM-5:00 PM Full-Time | Non-CDL Position Capital Lumber is looking for a dependable Delivery Driver / Material Handler to join our team. This is a hands-on position that combines driving, operating equipment, securing loads, picking up material from suppliers, and delivering building materials throughout the Boise area. If you like being on the move, working outside, operating equipment, and having some variety in your day, this could be a great fit. What You'll Do A typical day will include a mix of supplier pickups and customer deliveries . Supplier Pickups — "South Runs" Drive a flatbed truck to our local suppliers to pick up lumber and building materials Pick up from multiple suppliers during the same run Organize material safely on the flatbed Properly strap and secure multiple types and sizes of material Verify you're picking up the correct material before leaving the supplier Bring material back to our lumber yard safely and efficiently Customer Deliveries Load and deliver lumber and building materials to homes and job sites Drive a non-CDL flatbed delivery truck Secure and inspect loads before leaving the yard Operate a truck-mounted 4-way forklift Unload and place material where the customer or contractor needs it Navigate residential streets, construction sites, and tight North End alleyways Our truck-mounted forklifts can crab walk / travel sideways , which allows us to get material into some pretty tight places. You'll learn how to safely maneuver the forklift through alleyways, driveways, and active job sites. Forklift Experience Forklift experience is helpful, but it is NOT required. We're willing to train the right person. We're looking for someone who is cautious and respectful of the equipment—but not scared to operate it. You'll be working around trucks, forklifts, lumber, customers' homes, and active construction sites, so good judgment and awareness are extremely important. Schedule Monday-Friday 7:20 AM-5:00 PM We do our best to have everyone back on time, but deliveries don't always go exactly according to plan. If a delivery or pickup keeps you out past 5:00 PM, you will be compensated for that time. What We're Looking For Valid driver's license and a good driving record Comfortable driving a flatbed truck — no CDL required Dependable and on time Able to safely strap and secure loads Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions Able to lift and handle building materials when necessary Willing to learn how to operate a truck-mounted forklift Comfortable maneuvering trucks and equipment in tight spaces Good situational awareness and attention to safety Able to work independently and make good decisions on the road Friendly and professional with customers and suppliers About Capital Lumber Capital Lumber is a locally owned lumber and building materials company in Boise's North End.
