Part-Time Wheelchair Van Driver (As-Needed)
Job Description
About us Rocky Mountain Transportation is a non-emergency medical transportation company based in Coeur d'Alene. We partner directly with local rehabilitation facilities and hospitals to provide scheduled wheelchair transportation. Our work is planned in advance — no on-call shifts, no ride-share style dispatch.
The role:
You'll drive our wheelchair-accessible van (Ford Transit with rear-entry lift), transporting wheelchair clients to and from scheduled medical appointments — primarily between rehab facilities, Kootenai Health, and dialysis centers in the Coeur d'Alene / Post Falls area. Trips are scheduled ahead of time, typically with 24-48 hours' notice. This is as-needed, part-time work — a few shifts per week, a few hours at a time. We're hiring our first driver now, and plan to add a second driver (2-3 shifts per week) as our schedule grows.
Day to day:
- Transport wheelchair clients safely and on time to scheduled appointments
- Operate the wheelchair lift and secure wheelchairs properly — we provide full training
- Treat every rider with patience and professionalism; many are elderly or recovering from surgery
- Keep the van clean and report any maintenance needs promptly
- Represent the company well at our partner facilities — our drivers are the face of Rocky Mountain Transportation What we're looking for

- Physically able to push an occupied wheelchair and operate the lift — we train you on our equipment
- Dependable — when you're on the schedule, a client is counting on that ride
- Professional, patient, and comfortable interacting with medical facility staff
- Based in the Coeur d'Alene / Post Falls area
