We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Shop Assistant / Parts Driver who can work independently and contribute to the overall operation of our shop. This position involves much more than driving and delivering parts. The successful candidate will also assist with shop organization, cleaning, and general facility maintenance. Qualifications Self-starter with the ability to work independently Reliable, dependable, and punctual Excellent navigation and driving skills Forklift experience required Diesel parts experience is a plus Strong organizational and communication skills Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Must be able to pass a motor vehicle background check and DOT drug screening before full-time employment Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while driving Ability to bend, climb, crouch, stoop, and squat as needed Frequently push and pull parts and equipment Occasionally reach below, at, and above shoulder level Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds Good near and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedures Ability to complete routine reports and paperwork Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Ability to follow written and verbal instructions using sound judgment Job Responsibilities Pick up and deliver parts while verifying invoices match all parts being transported Load and unload the truck safely and efficiently Submit all required delivery and pickup paperwork daily Perform daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance, including checking fuel, oil, tires, and fluid levels, and keeping the vehicle clean Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional parts department and shop Remove trash and dispose of boxes and other debris Sweep and clean shop floors Clean company vehicles as needed Assist with general shop and office housekeeping Additional Responsibilities This is not solely a driving position . Employees are expected to assist with general shop and office duties, including janitorial tasks, to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
