A Sales Delivery Driver drives a truck or other vehicle over established routes or within an established territory and sells or delivers goods, such as food products, including restaurant take-out items, or pick up or deliver items such as commercial laundry. May also take orders, collect payment, or stock merchandise at point of delivery. Includes newspaper delivery drivers. Excludes gig economy drivers.
Crawford Company is seeking candidates for a Delivery Driver. This position works closely with customers and co-workers to facilitate workflow in residential, commercial, and industrial markets. Drivers provide quality service through the safe and efficient delivery of parts and goods to our customers and field employees using a company provided vehicle.
Job Responsibilities:
Operate company-owned trucks for the delivery, pickup and relocation of products and materials Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and Company safety programs Maintain and protect all property in excellent condition Load/unload trucks and stock inventory Perform physical labor, including loading and unloading plumbing, HVAC, and construction materials such as water heaters, toilets, black iron and PVC pipe, ductwork, job boxes, tools, and equipment. Driving and transporting equipment, including skid steers, mini excavators, ride-on trenchers, and scissor lifts. Safely load, unload, secure, and transport materials and equipment to and from job sites and company locations. Operate a variety of vehicles and trailers, including stake beds, flatbed trucks, box trucks, ¾-ton and 1-ton pickups, 20' and 24' trailers, and 35' and 40' gooseneck trailers. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, extreme heat, and extreme cold. Communicate effectively with team members across multiple locations through phone calls, text messages, email, and other communication methods. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude. Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must have valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record Must be able to pass DOT physical, including drug screen Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Hazmat is a preferred. Must be 21 years or older One year of related experience. Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds Geographical knowledge of service area and/or map reading skills a plus Previous experience is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate with a proven track record of hard work and dependability.
