YOU MUST BE A CURRENT FEDEX GROUND DRIVER TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION, PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT ACTIVE ON THE FEDEX GROUND SYSTEM WON'T BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION. ALSO, MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL ASAP.
Summary:
The Contingency Driver is responsible for covering delivery routes when regular drivers are unavailable. This role involves the efficient and safe operation of delivery vehicles, ensuring timely delivery and pick-up of packages, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Route Coverage:
Cover assigned delivery routes for regular drivers as needed, ensuring all packages are delivered and picked up on time.
Package Handling:
Load, unload, and sort packages in the delivery vehicle.
Customer Service:
Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, providing information and assistance as needed.
Vehicle Operation:
Safely operate delivery vehicles in compliance with traffic regulations and company policies.
Documentation:
Complete required documentation for package delivery and pick-up accurately and promptly.
Maintenance:
Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks, reporting any issues to management. Adherence to
Safety:
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience in delivery driving with
FEDEX GROUND.
Licenses:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. DOT physical.
Skills:
Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to [insert weight limit], typically around 50-75 lbs). Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to navigate using GPS and maps, and ground cloud.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages of various weights and sizes. Prolonged periods of driving, standing, and walking. Ability to work in various weather conditions.
Work Environment:
The position involves working in a fast-paced environment with tight delivery schedules. The job may require early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday work hours.
