In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting and delivering heating oil to residential and commercial customers, providing exceptional service while adhering to all safety and transportation regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine driving expertise with logistics skills, making a real difference in your community. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial tank trucks to deliver heating oil across designated routes. Load and unload fuel cargo using appropriate manual handling techniques, ensuring secure and efficient delivery. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to follow planned routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes when necessary. Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and hazardous materials handling procedures. Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and delivery records in accordance with company policies. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure compliance with safety standards and report any maintenance issues promptly. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries, provide updates, and address any delivery-related concerns. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat) and tanker vehicles. Proven experience in delivery driving, truck loading/unloading, or freight transportation, especially within logistics cargo handling environments. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazard materials regulations, DOT regulations, and safe manual handling practices. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle complex route driving scenarios. Strong navigation skills using GPS systems; experience with route planning for over-the-road (OTR) routes is a plus. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety; previous experience in hazardous goods or dangerous goods transportation is desirable. Physically capable of manual handling tasks involved in load & unload operations; able to lift heavy items safely when required. Pay:
$28.00 - $36.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
