The Middlesex Health and Wellness Services are oriented around welcoming spaces where compassionate care is provided in an environment of respect, safety, and empathy with a goal of fostering physical and emotional resilience in every student. The Health and Wellness team aspire for their spaces to be a 'home away from home' where all are seen, heard and cared for. The Wellness Center Driver drives the Middlesex students to medical appointments. This position is a variable hour part-time non-benefit eligible position with the schedule dictated by the volume of student appointments each week. Essential functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Ensure safe operation of the vehicles assigned. Track students travelling ensure all students are returned to campus. Assists passengers in and out of the vehicle when help is needed. Visually inspects the vehicle before beginning the days assigned trips. Timely reports any mechanical issues with the vehicle such as brakes, steering, or other issues. Re-fuel and perform basic maintenance (snow removal, etc.) to the Middlesex leased and owned vehicle fleet on an as needed basis. Ensure the vehicle starts and ends the day clean. Other duties as assigned. Competencies Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to operate a vehicle safely. Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent time management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of community groups including students, parents, staff, faculty, and city/state officials. Ability to work independently. Sufficient ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, courteously, and to coordinate with other leaders within the department and across the organization. Work environment In vehicle environment. Outdoors in all weather conditions known to the New England environment. Physical demands Prolonged periods sitting in and driving a vehicle. Intermittent Standing and Walking Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted. Frequent operating of Arm and Leg controls on vehicle Communication skills using the spoken and written word. Travel required In vicinity of school campus Required education and experience Education sufficient to read, write, and speak as needed for the job. Clean Driving Record. Valid Driver's License Additional eligibility requirements Able to successfully complete CHRI, CORI, and SORI checks.
