Do you enjoy being around the energy of children or schools? Are you looking for part-time work to stay active and meet fun people? IMS is seeking drivers for one of three small inter-campus shuttle buses for the morning and afternoon routes. The buses are 14 passenger Microbird activity buses and only require a standard drivers license (NO CDL). In addition to driving, our team also helps do some minor set up and take down of three small temporary classroom spaces on Monday morning and Friday afternoon. Optional additional hours may be available for light facilities and playground caretaking and field trips. On call/substitute drivers welcome, too. All shifts are on school days only: First Shift 1: 7:00AM
- 9:15AM Monday & 7:00AM
- 8:30AM Tuesday
Friday Second Shift:
2:45PM- 4:00
PM Tuesday & Thursday Optional Facilities Support:
1 hour before or after a scheduled shift, depending on the campus needing support. Hours may vary slightly on teacher work days.
Route:
Between Barbee Chapel Road in Chapel Hill and Academy Road in Durham and back to Barbee Chapel Road.

End Date:
June 9, 2027 with the possibility of a renewal for the following school year
Driver Responsibilities:
Inspecting that the bus is in proper working order. Supervising the safety of all students on board both while waiting for students to be dropped off or picked up and while transporting them. Sweeping and cleaning the bus at the end of each day. Serving as a role model and coach for the students and ensuring they are following school guidelines. Facilities Support (Optional): Sweeping sidewalks and playground hard surfaces, Picking up small trash and small branches Inspecting playground equipment Minor repairs Minor tidying Some interior small job cleaning
Skills & Qualifications:
At least 21 years of age with a GED or High School equivalent Standard driver's license as required by law (no special drivers license or endorsement is required for the 14 passenger bus) A DMV record in good standing Experience working with elementary children (5-12 year olds) Experience driving shuttles or school buses A positive and kind disposition The ability to maintain the safety expectations in a firm, but kind, way with children Ability to lift 40 pounds for facilities work Must pass a background check About us International Montessori School is a small independent school serving children ages 18 months to 14 years old in Durham and at its new campus in Chapel Hill.
