A Sales Delivery Driver drives a truck or other vehicle over established routes or within an established territory and sells or delivers goods, such as food products, including restaurant take-out items, or pick up or deliver items such as commercial laundry. May also take orders, collect payment, or stock merchandise at point of delivery. Includes newspaper delivery drivers. Excludes gig economy drivers.
The Food Service Prep and Delivery Driver is responsible for plating home delivered meals and then delivering those meals in the time allocated with the utmost professionalism and adherence to guidelines.
LINE OF AUTHORITY 1.
Supervised by: Kitchen Manager Cook 2.
Channels of communication:
Verbally communicates with the Executive Director and all team members as appropriate. The chain of command will be maintained at all times to uphold the open lines of communication throughout the agency.
QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Education:
Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent required. 2.
Experience:
Previous experience as a food service employee required and delivery driver preferred. 3. Valid driver's license in good standing, and current auto insurance required. 4. Ability to read and comprehend English and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 5. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients/families/caregivers and other employees of the organization. 6. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 7. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 8. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 9. Excellent communication and organizational skills. 10. Ability to multitask. 11. Able to perform duties with a high degree of independence, receiving a minimum of detailed supervision and guidance, requiring the use of initiative and judgment. 12. Be punctual and handle tasks in a timely manner. 13. Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism and integrity at all times. 14. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff, volunteers, and citizens in the community of all backgrounds, religions, ages, and experience. 15.
Physical:
Bend, stoop, climb, frequently lift 25 - 50lbs, load, unload and transport meals from point A to point B in a timely manner, ability to use fine motor skills, and ability to stand for long periods of time.
