UNITS® Moving and Portable Storage of North Carolina is looking for an experienced Delivery Specialist to provide outstanding service to our customers and partners. UNITS® of NC is a local business looking for strong team players ready for their opportunity to take on a key role with room to grow! This is a tremendous opportunity to be an integral part of a growing team. Who We Are Looking For A UNITS® Delivery Specialist is an energetic, professional, outgoing self-starter who has excellent driving skills and is a team player who works well with others. The Delivery Specialist supports operations by driving a Peterbilt Truck/ROBO Combo to deliver and/or pick up storage containers specific to the UNITS® Moving and Portable Storage model.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
include but are not limited to: 1. Positively and professionally represents UNITS® of North Carolina while interfacing with customers. 2. Ensures container loaded matches delivery ticket, bill of lading or work order. 3. Loads container using the ROBO, in reverse order of delivery, to ensure safe and accessible delivery. 4. Follows route and time schedule. 5. Loads, unloads, prepares, inspects, and operates vehicle according to established safety procedures. 6. Follows traffic signs and street signs to get to destination. 7. Inspects and maintains vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and gas and adding fuel, fluids and oil as needed. 8. Inspects Forklift and fills out Forklift Inspection Sheet to ensure maintenance is current. 9. Inspect and maintain UNITS® ROBO delivery system, including lugs nuts, tire wear, tire pressure, lights, hydraulic fluid, and oil levels. 10. Reports all noticeable damage to the company trucks and ROBO immediately. 11. If there is an accident, this will be documented and reported immediately to your direct supervisor. 12. Reads and interprets maps and GPS directions. 13. Follows and obeys all traffics laws and safety procedures. 14. Performs other duties as assigned, changing flat tires, building, and knocking down containers, facility safety, facility cleaning, truck washing and ROBO washing. 15. Be available to work a flexible work schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong Customer Service and Communication skills a must
  • Mechanically inclined with technical aptitude for small engines and equipment
  • Must be able to safely lift and carry heavy objects up to 60 lbs.
  • Able to perform basic math functions and calculations.
  • Perform Truck, ROBO and Forklift operations and other tasks according to established safety and risk management practices.
  • Must know how to read and interpret maps and directions.
  • Enthusiasm, trustworthiness, personal integrity, and honesty.
  • Possess and All In attitude and be Coachable
  • Ability to work autonomously and understand when a supervisor needs to be involved in decision making.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two or more years' experience as a driver OR any similar combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
  • Must present a 10-year MVR, Motor Vehicle Report
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening.

See well (naturally or with correction).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is both indoors and outdoors, while operating a vehicle.
