Duties Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and automobiles, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices. Plan efficient delivery routes using organizational skills to maximize productivity and minimize delays. Load, unload, and secure merchandise or packages with heavy lifting as needed, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Communicate effectively with clients upon delivery, building strong customer relationships through friendly service and clear communication. Upsell additional products or services when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and route logs in compliance with company policies. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after routes to ensure automobile transportation safety and report any issues promptly. Experience Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery roles within retail stores or similar environments. Knowledge of pricing strategies, merchandising, and client communication techniques. Familiarity with route driving, heavy lifting procedures, and safe lifting practices. Strong math skills for calculating distances, measurements, and basic financial transactions related to sales or pricing. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and management. Understanding of DOT regulations governing commercial truck driving to ensure compliance at all times.
