About Us:
The Mary Louis Academy (TMLA) is a Catholic all-girls college preparatory high school located in Jamaica Estates, Queens. Sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood, TMLA empowers young women to live lives of purpose through rigorous academics, strong spiritual development, and a commitment to justice. Our Transportation Team plays a vital role in supporting student success by ensuring safe, reliable travel to and from school and school-related events.
Job Summary:
The Mary Louis Academy is seeking a Part-Time School Van Driver to provide safe and dependable transportation for our students. The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, and has a strong commitment to student safety and well-being.
Responsibilities:
Operate a school van along assigned routes for daily student pick-up and drop-off. Transport students to athletic events, field trips, and other school-related activities. Maintain appropriate student behavior and safety on the bus. Adhere to all New York State traffic laws and TMLA transportation policies. Report delays, safety concerns, or vehicle issues promptly. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus.
Qualifications:
Valid New York State Drivers License (CDL is not required for this position) Clean driving record (Required) Must pass NYSED fingerprint clearance, DOT physical, and required drug/alcohol screenings Prior experience driving school-age children preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependability, punctuality, and a calm, student-focused demeanor
Compensation & Hours:
Part-time:
20-25 hours per week, based on school calendar and transportation needs Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience and credentials Additional hours available for special events or athletic transportation
