Duties Safely operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks and automobiles, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs across designated areas. Load, unload, and secure merchandise using safe lifting practices, demonstrating strength and precision during heavy lifting tasks. Communicate professionally with clients to confirm delivery details, answer questions, and build positive relationships. Conduct routine vehicle inspections to maintain optimal safety and performance; report any maintenance needs promptly. Upsell additional products or services when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and meet sales goals. Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records for organizational efficiency. Skills Proven experience in commercial driving or automobile transportation, with a solid understanding of route driving strategies. Strong math skills for pricing calculations, basic measurements, and inventory management. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and management. Knowledge of retail store operations and merchandising principles is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices to prevent injury. Familiarity with sales techniques and customer relationship building to foster trust and loyalty. Understanding of DOT regulations to ensure compliance during all driving activities.
