Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Direct Support Professional Driver to join our compassionate care team. In this vital role, you will provide safe, reliable transportation and personalized support to individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help empower our clients to participate fully in their community while ensuring their safety and well-being. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through compassionate caregiving combined with responsible driving. Responsibilities Safely transport clients to medical appointments, community activities and community jobs while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols. Support clients in engaging with their community by facilitating social activities and recreational outings. Maintain accurate documentation of care plans, incident reports and client progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform routine vehicle inspections, cleaning, and maintenance to ensure safety standards are met at all times. Follow all safety procedures during patient transfers. Skills Proven experience working in assisted living, home health care, nursing homes, or group home settings. Certified in CPR and First Aid; familiarity with HIPAA regulations for protecting patient privacy. Successfully pass a Background Check. Complete the 8 Hour Annual Training as required by The Department of Developmental Disabilities. Must have a clean driving record of 6 pts or less. Ability to observe patient conditions carefully and report changes accurately; experience monitoring vital signs is a plus. Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges; understanding of individualized care plans is highly valued.
