Job Description

Performance Food Group, a leading national foodservice distributor, is seeking a CDL A Delivery Truck Driver to safely transport food and related products to restaurants, schools, healthcare, and retail customers. In this field-based role, you will run assigned routes, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards. You'll load and unload freight, verify orders, maintain accurate delivery paperwork, and provide courteous, professional service at every stop. Responsibilities Safely operate CDL A tractor-trailer to deliver food and related products to customer locations on scheduled routes Load and unload freight using lift gates, pallet jacks, or hand trucks; verify product counts and condition Follow DOT, company, and food safety regulations, completing pre/post-trip inspections and logs Provide professional, customer-focused service at delivery sites, resolving basic delivery issues Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, manifests, and electronic records Communicate with dispatch regarding route changes, delays, or issues impacting customer service Secure loads and operate equipment safely to prevent damage and injury Support warehouse or yard operations as needed between routes Report equipment defects and coordinate with maintenance for timely repairs Adhere to all company safety programs and participate in ongoing training Required Skills CDL A truck operation DOT compliance and logs Defensive driving and safety procedures Route navigation and time management Freight loading/unloading Use of pallet jacks and lift gates Paperwork and manifest accuracy Customer service at delivery sites Vehicle inspection and basic troubleshooting Food safety and product handling
