Job Description
Berks Bus Service is seeking reliable and customer-focused appliance delivery and installation specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe transportation, delivery, and professional installation of appliances and exercise equipment to customers' homes or businesses. You will provide "white glove" service, ensuring appliances are delivered, installed and proper care is taken to prevent damage to the product and the customer's home, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and safety. This is a physically demanding position that requires excellent driving skills, mechanical aptitude, and strong customer service abilities. Routes are typically local, with occasional longer trips. Key Responsibilities Safely load and unload appliances at the warehouse and customer locations using equipment such as dollies, lifting straps, pallet jacks and hand trucks. Operate a 26 ft. box truck (non-CDL) to transport appliances along assigned routes, adhering to delivery schedules. Deliver appliances to customers' homes or businesses, navigating stairs, tight spaces, and various property types while protecting customer property from damage. Perform in depth installations, including dishwashers, microwaves, wall ovens and range hoods. Complete delivery and installation paperwork, including electronic logs, package scanner, customer signatures, and reports. Clean up work areas, remove debris/packaging, and haul away old appliances if required. Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform basic vehicle inspections, and report any maintenance needs. Comply with all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies.
Requirements and Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.License and Driving Record:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3-5 years). Ability to operate a 26 ft. box truck; commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus but not required.Experience:
Previous experience in appliance delivery, installation, or related fields (e.g., moving or general mechanics) preferred. 1+ years of professional driving or heavy lifting experience is highly desirable but not necessary.Physical Abilities:
Ability to repeatedly lift and carry heavy items (50-500+ lbs with assistance or equipment), bend, climb stairs, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand/power tools. Excellent customer service and communication skills for interacting with clients professionally. Detail-oriented with the ability to troubleshoot installation issues. Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a two-person team.Other:
Must be at least 21 years old to be a driver and 18 years old to be a helper. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional overtime. Background check and drug screening required.Job Types:
