WAREHOUSE MANAGER/ COURIER
Purpose:
The Warehouse Courier ensures the efficient operation of District warehouse and cold storage facilities as well as the transportation of large and small items between District locations.
Reports to:
Nutrition Services Supervisor Nature of Work:
The Warehouse Courier works independently following standardized routines under general supervision. The nature of the work requires adherence to Board policies and standard procedures.
Supervision Exercised:
No direct supervision exercised.
Interface:
Primarily interfaces with outside vendors and other District staff.
Essential Job Functions:
Receives warehouse deliveries, verifying accuracy of shipped items and storing them appropriately. Prepares pallets of warehouse items for delivery to various District facilities, ensuring accuracy of delivered items and their quantities. Places purchase orders with outside vendors as necessary. Conducts monthly physical inventory of warehouse and cold storage areas. Maintains all warehouse and cold storage facilities in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion. Delivers interdistrict mail to all District facilities. Delivers other required items to District facilities, including office supplies, cleaning products, school equipment and furniture. Disposes of discarded shipping materials appropriately. Collects food service funds and deposits them in bank. Conducts occasional offsite pick-ups of required supplies. Performs light maintenance on cold storage equipment. Maintains effective and respectful working relationships with staff and students. Required Qualifications:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must pass a criminal background check. Must be able to read, write, understand and follow multi-step written and verbal instructions in English. Must possess a valid Oregon or Washington driver's license. Must be able to operate a large delivery truck with a lift gate. Must be able to operate a fork lift and a pallet jack.
Working Conditions:
The Warehouse Courier works both indoors and outdoors in all weather. Travel to various District facilities may occur during periods of rain or snow. The incumbent will be required to stand, walk, climb stairs, push, pull, bend, stop and kneel, sometimes for prolonged periods, in the normal course of their workday. The incumbent will routinely lift up to 50 lbs. individually, and more than 50 lbs. with assistance. The work environment may include exposure to loud noise, chemicals, fumes, communicable diseases, sharp objects, power equipment, odors and slippery surfaces.
