Comfortable pulling a trailer? We are looking for a reliable, hard-working, service-oriented person to join our team at Dallas Glass! We are a locally owned company that offers a positive work environment and room to grow. Key Responsibilities
- Delivery and pickup of materials and supplies as needed. Check packing list of items being shipped and perform a quality/piece count upon delivery. Verify with project foreman.
- Inspect truck/trailer prior to departure. Perform safety checklist for each load delivered/picked up.
- Load and assist with trailers.
- Display safe and defensive driving techniques while on the road. Obey all applicable traffic laws.
- Perform minor fleet repairs as needed.
- Assist with locating and storing materials in the yard and shop.
- Maintain safe, organized, and clean work areas.
- Perform inspections of all vehicles and trailers, maintaining a detailed inspection log.
- Wash and clean vehicles.
- Record and submit mileage of all Fabrication vehicles to Fleet Manager monthly.
- Properly, safely, and productively assist fabrication team in creating quality commercial systems as needed.
- Willingly and effectively collaborate with others. Display the core values of Dallas Glass in daily interactions.
- Other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Required
- General understanding of commercial applications and systems.
- Clear understanding of safe operation and maintenance of shop equipment.
- Thorough understanding of DOT and delivery related requirements.
- Ability to confidently and safely load, pull, and back long trailers.
- Ability to effectively manage time and exhibit strong communication skills. Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, kneel, and sit for long periods.
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry 50+ pounds.
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid drivers' license (CDL a plus).
- MIG welding experience a plus.
- Material handling experience (forklift, grade-all, etc.
