Overview Are you looking for a hands-on position where every day offers something different and your contribution helps the entire shop succeed? M&E Products is a close-knit precision manufacturing company in Simpsonville, South Carolina. We are looking for a dependable and energetic Manufacturing Shop Associate to support our machinists and help keep materials, finished products, deliveries, and day-to-day shop activities moving efficiently. This is not a position where you will stand in one place performing the same task all day. You will assist throughout the shop, including shipping and receiving, local deliveries and pickups, product assembly and painting, packaging, material handling, general shop organization, and support for our machine operators. We complete most customer deliveries and pickups ourselves, so this person will also represent M&E Products when visiting customers and vendors. The right candidate will be dependable, organized, safety-conscious, and willing to take ownership of whatever needs to be accomplished. No CNC machining experience is required. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a genuine willingness to help the team. Responsibilities Prepare finished products and machined components for shipment. Package, protect, label, and organize products to prevent damage during transportation. Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials, castings, parts, supplies, and finished products. Receive deliveries and verify quantities and materials against packing slips or other documentation. Organize received materials and deliver them to the appropriate shop or storage location. Complete local customer and vendor deliveries and pickups using a company vehicle. Handle customer products carefully and professionally during loading, transportation, and unloading. Maintain delivery paperwork and obtain signatures or other documentation when required. Assist machinists with moving parts, materials, tooling, fixtures, and supplies. Support machine operators with loading and unloading parts when directed. Clean, wash, and prepare machined components for inspection, assembly, painting, packaging, or shipment. Remove chips, oil, residue, and other contaminants from completed parts as required. Perform basic product assembly using hand tools, power tools, fasteners, and written or verbal instructions. Prepare products for painting, including cleaning, masking, and organizing parts. Paint products according to established instructions and quality requirements. Inspect assembled, painted, and packaged products for appearance and obvious defects. Maintain orderly shipping, receiving, storage, assembly, and work areas. Sweep floors, empty waste containers, manage scrap and recyclable materials, and help keep the shop clean and safe. Monitor commonly used shipping, packaging, cleaning, and shop supplies and notify the appropriate person when replenishment is needed. Assist with basic inventory counts and material organization. Follow all shop safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. Help with other shop activities as needed to support production, quality, and on-time delivery. Requirements Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable for operating a company vehicle. Dependable transportation and consistent attendance. Ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload customer products and materials. Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or lifting equipment when appropriate. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work throughout a manufacturing environment. Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using common hand and power tools. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic math, counting, and measurement skills. Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling customer products and shipping documentation. Ability to organize work and move between different responsibilities as shop priorities change. Professional and courteous communication when interacting with customers, vendors, and coworkers. Commitment to safe work practices, quality, cleanliness, and teamwork. High school diploma or GED preferred. Preferred Experience Shipping and receiving Local delivery driving Manufacturing or machine-shop work Material handling Forklift or pallet-jack operation Product assembly Painting or industrial finishing Packaging finished products Using hand and power tools Prior experience in every area is not required. We are willing to train a dependable person who demonstrates good judgment, mechanical ability, attention to detail, and a desire to learn. Why Join M&E Products Become part of a close-knit manufacturing team where your work is noticed and appreciated. If you enjoy staying active, working with your hands, learning different responsibilities, and being an important part of a small team, we would like to meet you.
