In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting packages using box trucks or personal vehicles, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries across your designated route. Duties Safely operate box trucks or personal vehicles to deliver packages along assigned routes, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while practicing safe lifting practices. Verify delivery addresses, obtain signatures when required, and ensure accurate documentation of all deliveries. Communicate effectively via mobile devices to confirm delivery details, report issues, or update route information in real-time. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to maintain safety standards and report any mechanical concerns promptly. Assist with warehouse operations when necessary, including sorting packages, organizing inventory, and preparing shipments for delivery. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging professionally with recipients, answering questions, and resolving any delivery concerns promptly. Skills Proven experience as a delivery driver or in warehouse operations with a strong understanding of manual handling and heavy lifting techniques. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or driver's license suitable for operating box trucks or personal vehicles for commercial purposes. Familiarity with driving manual transmission vehicles and operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks. Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, weight handling in the workplace, and safe lifting practices to ensure compliance and safety at all times. Excellent route driving skills with the ability to navigate efficiently using mobile devices or GPS technology. Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional communication style. Ability to perform physical tasks including moving packages of various weights safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
