Job Description

Children's Lighthouse is looking for a dependable, safety-focused Part-Time Van Driver to join our team! This is a great opportunity for a responsible, energetic individual who enjoys working with children and wants a consistent part-time schedule. Our Van Driver plays an important role in safely transporting our school-age children to and from local elementary schools while providing a positive, caring experience. No CDL is required! Transportation is provided in our 14-passenger van .
Schedule Monday-Friday Morning Route:
7:30 AM-8:30
AM Afternoon Route:
3:00 PM-4:00 PM This position is perfect for someone looking for a consistent split-shift schedule. Interested in more hours? Additional hours may be available assisting in our classrooms before, between, or after routes. Responsibilities Safely transport children to and from local elementary schools using our 14-passenger van Follow all traffic laws, childcare transportation regulations, and company safety procedures Ensure children are safely secured, supervised, and accounted for during transportation Assist children with safely entering and exiting the vehicle Complete required attendance and transportation documentation Perform routine pre-trip vehicle safety checks Maintain a clean, safe, and organized vehicle Communicate effectively with school leadership regarding routes, children, delays, or transportation concerns Maintain a professional and positive attitude with children, families, school staff, and coworkers Prioritize the safety and well-being of every child at all times Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Must be able to pass all required background checks CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification Dependable, punctual, and responsible Comfortable driving a 14-passenger van Strong communication skills Ability to follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures Experience driving a passenger van, shuttle, bus, or similar vehicle is preferred but not required Experience working with children is a plus What We're Looking For Dependability is extremely important in this role. We need someone who understands the importance of arriving on time, being consistent, communicating with leadership, and making safety the top priority.
