Job Description
Job Summary We are currently seeking a Delivery Driver to support a growing steel business in the Salt Lake Valley. The Delivery Driver will work part time to pick up materials, deliver tools and supplies to job sites, and run other errands as assigned daily. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, understand verbal and written directions, and have (and maintain) a clean driving record. Duties
- Run various errands as assigned by owner, 4 - 5 days per week, up to 4 hours per day
- Manage receipts, ship tickets, packing slips and other delivery documents. Scan electronically and submit via email
- Operate company vehicles safely by following applicable traffic laws and obeying speed limits
- Load and unload trucks and trailers; tow trailers, welders, and other equipment from job site to job site
- Coordinate with suppliers and job site supervisors to schedule pick-ups and deliveries; enter and exit job sites during business hours; and safely load or offload materials in the proper location
- Manage tool inventory including documenting serial numbers, organizing gang boxes, sorting tools into boxes and bags, and tagging tools with company logo. Experience
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
- Safe and efficient driver with a clean driving record and a valid Utah driver's license
- Experience hitching a trailer to a truck; adjusting trailer ball; using trailer brakes; and towing a large, loaded trailer
- Ability to operate independently without much oversight or supervision
- Basic understanding of construction equipment and tools
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally
Bonus:
Experience with minor repairs on tools and equipment This position requires the ability to lift and carry 50 - 100lbs; load and unload trucks and trailers; ability to safely hitch a trailer to a truck; experience towing a large trailer; and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Company vehicle will be provided, and all fuel is paid for by the company. Looking for someone who can be on time and committed to the work schedule. While most work is located in the Salt Lake Valley, occasionally this job will require commuting to Davis County, Utah County, or Park City. Work will average 15 hours per week, with some weeks of work up to 25 hours. Schedule flexibility is possible, but a morning schedule is preferred.Pay:
