A Sales Delivery Driver drives a truck or other vehicle over established routes or within an established territory and sells or delivers goods, such as food products, including restaurant take-out items, or pick up or deliver items such as commercial laundry. We're looking for a reliable, hardworking Delivery Driver who understands that this position is about much more than driving from Point A to Point B. Our drivers are a critical part of keeping our projects moving. You'll be responsible for safely delivering materials, loading and unloading job sites, hauling trailers, helping maintain equipment, and working closely with our Project Managers, crews, and Yard Manager. Want to grow with a company rather than simply collect a paycheck. Responsibilities Safely operate company trucks and other assigned vehicles. Load, secure, transport, and unload construction materials and equipment. Deliver materials to active construction sites accurately and on time. Safely hook up, tow, back up, park, and disconnect trailers . Properly secure loads before transportation. Communicate with the Yard Manager, Project Managers, and crews regarding deliveries and material needs. Assist with loading and unloading decking, lumber, railing, dock materials, equipment, and other construction materials. Plan efficient delivery routes and adjust when job-site needs change. Inspect company vehicles and trailers and report maintenance or safety concerns. Perform basic vehicle, trailer, and equipment maintenance when needed. Keep trucks, trailers, and work areas clean and organized. Follow all traffic laws, company safety procedures, and job-site requirements. Jump in and assist the team when needed. Material & Construction Knowledge Previous construction or building-material experience is strongly preferred. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of or experience handling: Composite and PVC decking materials Pressure-treated lumber Framing lumber Deck railing systems Construction hardware and fasteners Dock materials and pilings Long, oversized, or heavy building materials Experience handling decking materials is a major plus. Knowing how to properly load, secure, transport, and unload expensive materials without damaging them is extremely important to this position. Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding position.
You must be able to:
Regularly lift and carry 50+ pounds . Safely handle materials exceeding 50 pounds with assistance or proper equipment. Handle heavy dock pilings, lumber, decking, and construction materials. Load and unload trucks and trailers throughout the workday. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and remain active throughout the day. Experience & Skills Previous Delivery Driver, construction, warehouse, yard, or similar experience preferred. Trailer experience is strongly preferred , including correctly hooking up a trailer and confidently backing and maneuvering a trailer. Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot minor truck, trailer, or equipment issues is preferred. Familiarity with GPS and route planning. Strong communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently while still being a team player. Construction or decking-material knowledge is a plus. Requirements Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to meet company insurance requirements for operating company vehicles. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening. Reliable transportation to and from work. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position. Willingness to learn, grow, and take on additional responsibilities.
