Duties Safely operate a variety of delivery vehicles, including box trucks, vans, and personal vehicles, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws Load, unload, and secure packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks Plan efficient delivery routes using mobile devices or GPS systems to maximize productivity and meet delivery timeframes Interact professionally with customers during delivery, providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures, timestamps, and any delivery discrepancies or issues Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance needs promptly Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy or bulky items to prevent injuries Skills Proven experience in delivery driving or courier roles with a focus on route driving and customer interaction Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations and material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks or manual transmission trucks Strong knowledge of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and weight handling in the workplace Ability to adhere strictly to traffic regulations, DOT regulations, and safety protocols during all driving activities Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers and team members effectively Experience operating commercial trucks or box trucks is preferred; familiarity with manual transmission is a plus Competence in using mobile devices for route navigation, delivery tracking, and communication Embark on a career that keeps you moving while making a difference!
