We're looking for a dependable, safety-conscious, resourceful Service & Delivery Route Driver who can work independently, solve problems in the field, adapt when priorities change, and take excellent care of company vehicles and equipment. This is a hands-on position. You'll spend most of your day independently driving an assigned route, servicing portable toilets and handwash stations, and completing deliveries and pickups. Experience safely towing and backing trailers is required. Portable sanitation experience is helpful but not required. We can teach the sanitation side of the business to the right person. What You'll Do Drive a Blue Loo service truck on an assigned route Pump, clean, sanitize, and restock portable toilets Service handwash stations and related sanitation equipment Deliver and retrieve portable toilets, handwash stations, holding tanks, and other equipment Safely tow, maneuver, and back trailers Properly connect and disconnect trailers Load and secure equipment for transportation Safely maneuver trucks and trailers on construction sites and in tight locations Perform basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections Keep your assigned truck clean, organized, stocked, and ready for work Operate vacuum pumps, hoses, fittings, and related equipment Identify and promptly report damaged equipment or mechanical concerns Complete route and service documentation accurately Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and jobsite personnel Independent Problem-Solving Our drivers spend much of their day working independently. Construction sites change, gates are sometimes locked, equipment gets moved, access conditions change, and unexpected situations happen. We're looking for someone who can assess a situation, think through the options, and find a reasonable solution without needing constant direction. When management does need to become involved, we value communication that sounds like: "Here's the issue, here's what I've already checked or tried, and here's what I recommend we do." We don't expect you to know everything. We do expect you to think, troubleshoot, use good judgment, and take ownership of your work. Flexibility Portable sanitation is a service business, and occasionally a customer needs a same-day delivery, pickup, or service. Routes are planned in advance whenever possible, but priorities can change during the day.
You should be comfortable:
Adjusting your route when necessary Handling occasional same-day deliveries or pickups Re-prioritizing when customer needs change Switching between servicing, deliveries, and pickups Occasionally working additional hours when needed Remaining calm and solution-oriented when the day's plan changes We respect our employees' time and do not expect unlimited availability. Reasonable flexibility during the workweek is, however, an important part of this position. Taking Care of Our Equipment Blue Loo's trucks, trailers, pumps, tools, and rental equipment are major company assets. We expect our drivers to take care of them.
That means:
Driving defensively and carefully Performing basic daily vehicle inspections Keeping the truck clean and organized Reporting warning lights, leaks, unusual noises, damage, or other concerns promptly Checking basic items such as tires, lights, hoses, fittings, and trailer connections Properly securing equipment before transport Getting out and checking clearance rather than guessing Using a spotter when appropriate Never sacrificing safety or equipment protection just to finish something faster We value good judgment over speed. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Extremely dependable and punctual Comfortable working independently A practical problem-solver Flexible when priorities change Safety-conscious Careful with vehicles and equipment Able to take initiative without constant direction Organized and responsible Professional with customers Comfortable working outdoors year-round Comfortable performing physical work Willing to work around portable sanitation equipment and waste Someone who takes pride in doing the job correctly Required Qualifications Valid driver's license Acceptable driving record Previous experience safely towing and backing trailers Comfortable driving larger work vehicles Ability to safely maneuver a truck and trailer in tight spaces Ability to work independently Ability to repeatedly enter and exit a truck throughout the workday Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver equipment Ability to lift approximately 50-75 lbs when necessary Ability to work outside in rain, cold, heat, and other Pacific Northwest weather Reliable transportation to and from work Consistent and reliable attendance Experience with portable sanitation, septic service, vacuum trucks, construction, equipment rental, delivery routes, landscaping, waste management, or similar work is helpful but not required. We can teach the sanitation business. Reliability, initiative, judgment, and work ethic are much harder to teach.
