Truckable Tug Operator /

Full-Time Position Overview Barnett Southern is seeking an experienced Truckable Tug Operator / Captain to manage and operate our truckable tugboats on marine construction projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating tugboats—whether pushing ahead, towing alongside, or towing astern—as well as a solid understanding of machinery spaces and rigging practices. This is a full-time position based in Savannah, GA, with pay commensurate with experience. Responsibilities Operate and manage truckable tugboats on assigned projects Ensure the safety of all crew members and compliance with company safety standards Maintain vessels in proper working condition through regular inspections and upkeep Direct and supervise crew members, assigning duties as needed Keep accurate records of vessel operations, maintenance, and trip logs Communicate effectively with project teams to ensure smooth marine operations Minimum Qualifications Valid U.S. Coast Guard Captain's License required Valid TWIC card and driver's license required Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, U.S. Coast Guard physical, and background check Strong knowledge of vessel operations, rigging, and marine safety procedures Proven leadership and communication skills Prior experience operating tugboats in marine or construction environments preferred
