Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Captain for a 200-ton class lift boat to lead vessel operations with expertise, precision, and safety at the forefront. This vital role involves overseeing all aspects of vessel management, jacking operations, crew supervision, and water transportation activities. The Captain will ensure compliance with maritime safety procedures, US Coast Guard (USCG) regulations, and industry standards while maintaining optimal vessel performance. A proactive leader, you will coordinate heavy lifting operations, manage crew communication, and uphold the highest standards of marine navigation and vessel maintenance. Your leadership will drive operational excellence in the water transportation industry, ensuring safe and efficient lift boat operations. Responsibilities Command and navigate the 200-ton lift boat with precision using advanced marine navigation systems and piloting skills. Supervise and manage the crew, fostering a team environment focused on safety, efficiency, and professionalism. Oversee vessel maintenance, including mechanical systems, rigging equipment, and water transportation gear to ensure optimal performance. Coordinate heavy lifting operations, ensuring proper rigging techniques and manual handling procedures are followed safely. Enforce maritime safety procedures in compliance with USCG regulations and industry best practices during all vessel activities. Conduct thorough vessel inspections, routine maintenance checks, and manage water transportation equipment to prevent operational issues. Communicate effectively with crew members using maritime communication protocols to ensure clear understanding of tasks and safety measures. Manage vessel documentation, logs, incident reports, and compliance records diligently for regulatory audits. Lead emergency response efforts when necessary, demonstrating quick decision-making in high-pressure situations. Qualifications Proven experience as a Captain or ship supervisor within the water transportation or maritime industry. Extensive knowledge of USCG regulations, maritime safety procedures, and vessel management practices. Strong background in marine navigation systems, boat handling, heavy lifting operations, and rigging techniques. Mechanical knowledge related to vessel maintenance and water transportation equipment upkeep. Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards. Prior experience with maritime piloting, crew communication protocols, and managing complex lift operations. Military experience or background in rigging, manual handling, or watercraft operation is highly desirable. $100,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
