Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of junk removal specialists during daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely Operate and manage different types of trucks including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws Load and unload debris using front-end loaders or manual lifting techniques while adhering to hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols Drive route trucks safely through municipal waste management routes, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries while complying with traffic laws and defensive driving standards Maintain vehicle inspection routines focusing on mechanical knowledge, air brake systems, manual transmissions, and overall truck safety to prevent breakdowns or accidents Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials when applicable, following all safety guidelines and environmental regulations Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clients during pickups and drop-offs; address any concerns promptly and courteously Experience Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as garbage trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers in outdoor work environments Strong knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and equipment operation including front loaders and rear loaders Familiarity with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, state transportation laws, traffic laws, and safety protocols for commercial driving Prior experience in municipal waste management or solid waste collection is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high safety standards Mechanical aptitude for basic truck maintenance checks and troubleshooting issues on the road This role offers an engaging environment where leadership meets physical activity—perfect for those eager to make a tangible impact on community cleanliness while advancing their career in waste management.
