Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and responsible Class A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will operate tractor-trailers to deliver gravel products and heavy equipment efficiently and safely across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving. Your expertise in operating heavy equipment will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, across designated routes and OTR routes. Load and unload equipment using appropriate manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, ensuring timely deliveries while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with safety regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving. manual transmission trucks confidently and handle truck loading/unloading procedures. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) routes. Experience with logistics cargo handling equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks is a plus. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving. Strong manual handling skills for load & unload activities; ability to work in physically demanding environments.
